So here it is everyone, the Steve Martin monologue that was a tribute to Gilda Radner. She had died that afternoon, the same day as the season finale. While Steve is presenting the “Dancing in the Dark” sketch (from the Steve Martin/Blues Brothers episode) he’s trying to hold back tears. This was just an unforgettable SNL moment that crushes your heart when you watch it.
I’m bringing this back because today is May 20th. On this day 24 years ago, we lost Gilda Radner.

Guy Fieri ‘SNL’ Sketch Is Everything We Dreamed Of | Huff Post Food
We were surprised at first, given one of the most notable events of the week, that SNL didn’t have a Guy Fieri sketch in this weekend’s live show. As it turns out, they actually did, but it didn’t make it past dress!
I’d also like to give a special thanks to my lovely wife, Mary Pat Christie who is here tonight, who put up with a husband who has smelled like a wet fleece for the last three weeks.
